Nobody's allowed to be different; everyone just zones out in front of these giant TV screens. The government's always watching, and people are scared to even *think* about anything outside the box. It's like everyone's a robot, plugged into the system, and nobody even *cares* about real connections or nature anymore. It's a scary world where they've traded thinking for being "happy," and that's why it's so messed up. 13:38:47 From Dillon phone : I was typing some of them on the side 13:38:56 From Dillon phone : Just cuz I knew you would prolly ask it 13:40:53 From Dillon phone : A big difference is I like to think about is it’s perfect but… it’s really how big that but is 13:44:21 From Dillon phone : Giving them ig a diffrent perspective 13:44:28 From Dillon phone : And the government doesn’t like that 13:45:54 From Dillon phone : King George would agrre 13:51:58 From Dillon phone : So far, Clarisse seems super different from everyone else. She's actually interested in Montag and wants to have real conversations, not just talk about nothing. She notices things – like the moon and the dew – that nobody else seems to care about. She asks a ton of questions, and it's clear she's really thinking about the world around her, unlike the other people who are just glued to their screens. Based on this, I'm guessing that Clarisse is going to be the one who wakes Montag up. She's probably going to keep asking him questions and making him think about his life and what he's doing. I think she'll show him that there's more to life than just burning books and following orders. She might even get him to question the whole system and realize that he's not happy. Basically, I think she's going to be the catalyst for change in Montag's life, the person who sets him on a completely different path. She seems like the key to him finding some kind of meaning in that messed-up world. 14:02:43 From Dillon phone : The "seashells" in "Fahrenheit 451" are like these tiny, button-sized radios that people wear in their ears to constantly listen to music, talk shows, and other audio. It’s like a constant thing for entertainment. They connect to the modern day by being incredibly similar to our earbuds and smartphones. Just like the seashells, these modern technologies provide a constant connection to information and entertainment, often at the expense of real human interaction and critical thought. They also contribute to a sense of isolation, superficiality, and escapism, mirroring concerns about how technology is used to distract, control, and manipulate individuals in today's society. 14:04:36 From Dillon phone : The seashells is sadly prolly one of the most realistic things that might become a reality tho 14:06:20 From Dillon phone : Hopefully we don’t get that far gone 14:08:01 From Dillon phone : I actually didn’t pick up on that 14:16:44 From Dillon phone : It’s like the symbol of the firemen the hearth even though it’s supposed to mean warmth at home, is kinda twisted cuz they actually bring fire to homes. The salamander symbolizes the firemen's supposed immunity to the destructive nature of fire and their association with it. Together, "the hearth and the salamander" represent the firemen's job of destroying homes and knowledge, turning symbols of warmth and resilience into instruments of destruction and oppression. 14:25:32 From Dillon phone : The concept of the dog is kinda scary it tracks down people who posses or have books, and then its track down its prey to inject them with drugs. Of course montey is worried the hound might get him and the hounds sense of aggression doesn’t seem to have any emotional attachment 14:25:50 From Dillon phone : I think we might see later in the story the hound chase montag 14:28:04 From Dillon phone : Yea I would be afraid too cuz it also sounds like there is not counter to the hound 14:28:40 From Dillon phone : Like the terminator 14:29:14 From Dillon phone : Oh hi Sydney 14:29:35 From Dillon phone : Oh nevermind 14:38:06 From Dillon phone : Nope 14:38:10 From Dillon phone : I got nothing 14:38:26 From Dillon phone : Thank you! Yea so sorry
